Bey Blades

The Bey Blades is a renowned military unit consisting of highly skilled and deadly warriors based in the city of Farsoro of Beylik. It is recognized as one of the most formidable forces in the region, often called upon by both the Bey and the Three Viziers, especially the Eye of the Bey, when extreme military force is required. The Blades played a prominent role in keeping order throughout Arneria and earned a reputation for its exceptional combat prowess and heroic exploits. Notable figures such as Ibrahim the Hammer and Osman II the Cavalry have become legendary within the region

As One

The Blades are known for employing careful strategy and cunning tactics when dealing with crisis situations. They make effective use of magic items tailored to the specific circumstances, such as potions of resist energy or protection from arrows. Countermages are particularly skilled at dispelling enemy spells, and the warriors prioritize targeting vulnerable opponents. Thunderstones and tanglefoot bags are used to disorient and handicap adversaries. Despite their soldier status, a squad of Blades poses a significant threat to a party of delvers of equal level if they find themselves on the wrong side of the law in the Beylik.

Farsoro's Best

The Blades are the best of the best among Beylik elite forces. Devastatingly skilled heavy infantry supported by magic, the Blades serve as an immovable rock in the front lines of several Arnerian battles. The group never exceeds forty members but is fully capable of outfighting far superior numbers.

The Blades act as the supra-military force of Beylik; only called when the Bey or any of the Viziers have summoned them. And when they are not on duty, they act as peacekeepers not only in Farsoro but all throughout the Beylik. Other higher-ranking units of the military of Beylik have respect for the Bey Blades and as such, a rivalry between the Blades and the other units exists because of the higher authority and prestige of the Blades. The Bey Blade's reputation for bravery and combat expertise continues to inspire awe and respect throughout the city of Farsoro.

First in Battle, Last to Fall

Members of the Bey Blades typically undergo seven levels of warrior training, from distance fighting, to close-quarter situations, and to battle tactics. In addition to their combat skills, an assigned battalion of the Blades includes countermages and adepts who provide magical support. Countermages are equipped with wands of dispel magic (an extremely useful item when magic breaks loose), enabling them to neutralize spellcasters of any kind, while adepts contribute with their spellcasting abilities. The Blades wear distinctive sand-colored cloaks of resistance  while on duty, adorned with the seal of the Bey and the unit insignia—a kilij (a one-handed short sword or a long sword, single-edged, with a curved scimitar) with the words "First in Battle, Last to Fall."
